David Jones is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who served in the US Marine Corps Reserve, Texas Army National Guard and Active-Duty US Army for 33 years; his military training and experience includes serving as a US Marine Corps Rifleman, US Army Cavalry Scout, US Army Infantry and Civil Affairs Officer. David has an extensive background in military training development and advisement and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and to the Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
     

 Outside of his military training and experience, David is a Licensed Texas Private Security Officer, Private Investigator, Personal Protection Officer and Texas Level Three Firearms and Classroom Instructor. David holds several National Rifle Association (NRA) Instructor qualifications which include NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO), Basic Pistol, Basic Rifle, Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW), and Defense Inside & Outside the Home as well as a Texas Department of Public Safety License to Carry Instructor.

 

David’s lifetime interest in survival, preparedness and firearms began early in life, and founded Assegai Survival Systems to share his love of the outdoors and to teach others the skills to operate and survive in difficult situations. The training approach at Assegai Survival Systems is to teach our students the tried-and-true method of crawl, walk and run in a calm, respectful, mature and professional atmosphere.

 

Upon completion of our firearm, survival and tactical courses, our graduates will have the requisite skills to prepare themselves and others to face with confidence life threatening and catastrophic events and to live up to the Assegai Survival Systems motto to:
